Dear APEAS Members,

Please read on below for the last meeting's Notes and to see the next 12 month meeting schedule.  Please note we are meeting on May 15th, 2003, Tony Almeida & Cristina Martinez will contact all members with location and time.

Following is a summary of our discussions at the last APEAS meeting Thursday
4/24/03:

Give the last minute notice of the meeting and lack of availability of many of the members, we had a small working meeting on Thursday April 24th, 2003 at El Pastor
Restaurant in Newark, NJ, present were:

We decided on setting dates for the year for meetings and assigning members
to organize those meetings.  Each member responsible for a meeting is
responsible for reserving the restaurant, planning a presentation and getting the word out (email and 'snail' mail).

Thurs. May 15, 2003: Tony Almeida and Cristina Martinez
Thurs. June 19, 2003:  Carlos Fazenda EIC, this could be substituted by the
annual soccer match
Thurs. July 17, 2003: Tony Goncalves
August 2003: NO MEETING
Thurs. September 18, 2003:  Luis Gaspar
Thurs. October 16, 2003: Joe Dacosta
Thurs. November 20, 2003: Luis Figueiredo
Sunday, December 7, 2003 : X-Mas party if there is interest and 3 additional members willing to work with Cristina to plan
Thurs. Janurary 15, 2004: Tony Gomes
Thurs. February 19, 2004: Art Merces
Thurs. March 18, 2004: Ed Almeida
Thurs. April 15, 2004:  Julio Isidor

A form letter and mailing lables will be given to each member organizing a
meeting.  Phone calls and emails may need to be arranged to insure good turn
out.  Stamps are to be doanted by each member organizing the particular
meeting.

El Pastor is one option for meetings, if you have trouble finding a restaurant and anyone can contact it's owner Jose Marques @
973-589-2801 for reservations.  The price to hold our events at El Pastor can probably be done for
$30-$35 per person (meant to include meal, tip and tax), so please try to find something in that price range, if you would want to hold the meeting in a different place.
