"I have started selecting key members for the Steering Committee, all of who think it’s about time and long over due that a Portuguese-American Republican organization is formed. The Steering Committee members believe the Portuguese community is inherently Republican in ideas. Most of us have strong family values; we are hard working; we invest and save our money; we don’t want hand outs but we also do not want to support those who don't want to support themselves; and we are conservative with our believes and our money."
